How En Route Designs is making "Traditional" Asian clothing mainstream for everyday use

We believe by making Asian clothing more comfortable, we can help children feel more at ease wearing traditional attire (kurtas) and everyday staples for babies/toddlers (footies and rompers) while maintaining the cultural essence of Asian clothing design features and design patterns.

Here is a breakdown of how we are doing it!

1. Using lightweight fabrics

breathable and softer materials like bamboo, cotton and blends of bamboo/cotton/spandex instead of linen, chiffon, or raw silk

2. Simplifying and Modernizing Design Elements

Avoiding heavily embroidered outfits, especially for children, as these can feel itchy or heavy.

Choosing minimalistic styles or printed designs that are lightweight and visually appealing.

3. Incorporating spandex for maximizing mobility

a little bit of spandex in blended fabrics works wonders and it is currently underutilized in Asian and South Asian clothing.

We believe by focusing on comfort and versatility, Asian clothing can feel more appealing to everyone without losing its charm.
